  • ROTTERDAM - 18 juni 1932 bezocht de Graf Zeppelin tijdens een promotietoer het Rotterdamse vliegveld Waalhaven. Aan boord waren Prins Hendrik (de man van Koningin Wilhelmina) en de ministers van Waterstaat en Defensie.<br />
De Graf Zeppelin (genoemd naar graaf Ferdinand von Zeppelin, de uitvinder van het luchtschip) was de grootste zeppelin ooit – het enorme ding van 236 meter lang is de hele wereld overgevlogen.<br />
Het werd dan ook het grootste luchtvaartevenement dat Rotterdam ooit had gezien, op en rond Waalhaven werd meteen maar een luchtvaartshow georganiseerd. <br />

Deze foto is gemaakt met een Cirkut 16 roterende panorama camera, gemaakt door de Rochester Panoramic Camera Company vanaf 1905 tot 1949. In 1905 werd de fabriek in datzelfde jaar overgenomen door Century Camera Co. (onderdeel van Eastman Kodak) Het negatief formaat is 42cm x 200cm<br />
